The salon

Beauty is taken rather seriously in Port-au-Prince. There are a variety of salons for hair, nail, and waxing services, at a wide range of price/class points. Here's one that actually had a couple of armed guards relaxing in the shade of the inner courtyard.

Jacmel streets

I watched a short video today, created by SOW PRO, about the Dessaix Baptiste music school in Jacmel, and found myself nostalgic for what is a genuinely beautiful city. After the video, enjoy a couple of photos of the FOSAJ gallery wall, an artist collective based near the beach.

Regular market streets

My mind is on the streets of Jacmel, during Kanaval season, though my body is in Chicago. These are just regular market streets. Structures being rebuilt, clothes being resold.
